Mellerud is situated between the west coast of Sweden and Lake Vänern. We have over 40 km of waterfront along Lake Vänern. We have an abundance of lakes and forests, large agricultural areas as well as a mountain – Kroppefjäll. This is not a mountain in the true sense of the word but rather a plateau with elevations up to 240 metres above sea level. From Bore Kulle, for example you have a magnificent view over Lake Vänern.
The man looking happy to the left is our Municipal Director Ingmar Johansson. If you want to know more about how Mellerud municipality operates, we recommend that you visit the municipality's official website, www.mellerud.se (nytt fönster)

(STIFF TERMS IN MELLERUD)
Yes and no, this is perhaps not totally true. There are many explanations for this saying, but nobody really knows how it started. There is talk of misfortune on the football field, and of the singer Anders Börje. We choose to say New Terms in Mellerud instead, a phrase coined by municipal commissioner Robert Svensson.
