Tidaholm - Naturområden

Hökensås – a piece of Norrland in miniature. A nature reserve in the true sense, approx.
5 500 hectares in size. With its pine forest and about 60 lakes Hökensås entice to many different activities both during the summer and the winter.

The nature reserve in Ekedalen has a deciduous forest with mostly beech wich is totally foreign for the surrounding. With its tender green of spring the forest gives the feeling of the nature in the south of Sweden.

Lammevad marsh is one of the marshes made from one of the springs from the ground of Dimbo. The high content of lime in the ground makes the marsh favourable for orkids. Here you can find all kinds of orkids both common and rare.

The nature reserve contents Tidan river with its large parts of streaming water, different kinds of forests and pasture land. One part of the forests consists of thick common alder and some older coniferous tree.

Gunniltorp nature reserve contents pasture land and dramatic slops of old deciduous forest, mostly elm but also oak, lime and ash. The forest is also grazed.
