Kulturvägen - Ekomuseum Västergötland

The "Historic Road" is an area full of new experiences stretching from Tranemo in the South, trough Ulricehamn and along the valley of Ätran in Falbygden.

During your visit you will meet small countryside businesses active in agriculture, tourism, food production, coffe shops, handicrafts and much more.

You will experience wonderful nature and gain an insight into the ares history in calm and inspiring environment.

The road was part of the old bridal path that stretched from the coast far into Västergötland. This provided a central point for farms and villages which thus gaind accsess to information. The variety of travellers impacted on the local culture, which can be seen not least from the various rune stones some of which describe long journeys abroad.

Travel along the small winding gravel roads into living landscape, experiencing the scents, tastes and views while at the same time being sure of a warm welcome from the local inhabitants.

Eco museum?

Eco is derived from the Greek word Oikos, originally meaning home or village and museum standing for to care and exhibit. We want to illustrate the connection between people and surroundings.

The Eco-museum is run as a co-operative. Members active in a number of tourist related areas. Its goal is to increas tourism and give greater opportunities to discover the wonderful nature and cultural monuments in the area.
